Ambedkar Nagar : The width of Akbarpur-Dostpur road connecting Purvanchal Expressway will now be increased from seven meters to 10 meters. However, earlier the PWD department had sent the proposal of four-laning this route to the government, which could not be approved. In such a situation, now a proposal for widening of the concerned road will be sent.
Length of Akbarpur-Dostpur road in Ambedkarnagar district is 17.6 km. Is. PWD had sent the proposal for construction of four lanes to the government last year. In this, not only the width of the road had to be increased but also a divider of two feet had to be built in the middle. At present the width of the road concerned is seven metres. People hoped that the distance of Ambedkarnagar to Sultanpur district would be reduced due to the construction of four lanes. People would get another benefit due to connection with Purvanchal Expressway.
However, the government did not approve this proposal. Because an industrial corridor is to be constructed in Bewana and surrounding areas near Purvanchal Expressway. Now PWD has decided to widen this road. According to the PWD office, at present the width of the road is seven meters. Now it will be increased by one and a half meters on both sides to make the total width 10 meters. The widening of the road will directly benefit the population of about 10 thousand passing through this route every day.
Due to the connection of Akbarpur Dostpur road with Purvanchal Expressway, the pressure of vehicles on the concerned road is increasing day by day. In the past, when Purvanchal Expressway was not built, the vehicle traffic on this route was very less, but after the construction of the expressway, the number of vehicles is increasing. Due to this, the pressure on the related route is increasing. Due to less width of the road, sometimes an uncomfortable situation arises. Keeping this in view, this road will now be widened.
Executive Engineer of Public Works Department (Provincial Division) Saurabh Singh said that Akbarpur-Dostpur road will be widened from seven meters to 10 meters. A proposal is being prepared for this. After the elections the proposal will be sent to the government.
